Training Trails -
Canada Europe To submit information about public training trails in your area, please send details to info Blackfoot Recreational Area, 40 minutes east of Edmonton. There are specially designated trails for mushers, kept nicely groomed and has a variety of trail loops ranging from 1km to 33km. Trails can be mixed and matched to give the desired distance. Great for any musher's needs. Check the website for more information: http://www.dotheblackfoot.ca/ Houston The Houston race trail is open for training. Trail distances are 4 miles, 6 miles and 9.5 miles. For further details, contact Steve Rooke. Prince George The trails are open all winter for running dogs and will be groomed regularly. These trails would be an excellent place to stop and run dogs for people heading north to Alaska. The trails are 10-12 ft wide and have rolling hills through a spruce forest.
